Needs a few changes Review by Tim / (Posted on 5/22/2017)
Ditto on the dual adjustment waist straps and the need for Nalgene bottle space, 32 oz.... copy the Maxpedition devil dog but downsize about 20 %. That bag would f'n rock! Oh, and don't pad it up so much for righties that a lefty can't carry it properly. Just found your site, I've had much Max and 5.11 in the past, keep up the improvements and I'll be onboard. Great job guys.

Great bag with multiple uses. Review by Chris S / (Posted on 1/3/2017)
I bought this bag when it was on sale and too good of a deal to pass up. I am glad that I did. Over Christmas we went to visit family so I decided to try the pack out. First I loaded it as my DOP kit with all of my toiletries and device cables and chargers. It served me very well in that purpose. I just tucked the waist band behind itself and used the handles to carry it around. At the end of the trip we visited a theme park and I emptied the bag out and filled it with two water bottles and some snacks. A hydro flask fits into the outside pocket. It was a little anug but my kids were able to take it out and put it back pretty easily. I carried another inside the bag and swapped them out when the outside one became empty. I wore the pack utilizing the waist belt with the pack facing my back. I rarely noticed the pack was even there most of the day. It is super comfortable and very nice to not have something on your shoulders all day like a backpack. This pack seems very well made and definitely worth owning.

Great bag, but would like to see some improvements Review by Yun S / (Posted on 8/29/2016)
I got this bag directly from this site after seeing so many positive reviews online (youtube). I am a big fan of waist / lumbar packs, and used many different ones out there. From a quality standpoint, it's top notch. However, I would love to see the following improvements.

1. Hip-belt adjustment is not ideal because the 'female' buckle is fixed, in it's position and you can only change the fitting by using the male buckle. This means, your hip belt buckles will ALWAYS be on the left side of the bag. Majority of the hip belts out there gives you dual adjustments so that you can position the buckle in the middle, or to the right side, depending on your preference. Dual adjustments allow you to also easily adjust the tension using 2 hands. The stratp management loop in the right side of the hip belt is also very frustrating to use. Small velcro strap manager would be desirable because I often find myself taking the bag off after the belt has been adjusted the snake the strap through the loop then put it back on. Once the bag is filled, and snug around our waist, it is difficult to adjust the loose strapping.

2. bag's overall height, depth, and width: I may be a bit picky here, but I carry my tablet aronund in this. My surface pro 4 does NOT fit flat against the back wall. The is too narrow for that, and it will only fit if the tablet is inserted in a diagonal manner, which basically kills the inside space and becomes useless. The top lid also closes too tightly with my surface pro 4 (this makes me nervous in side I drop the bag accidentally upside down. the tablet will crack without a doubt. So a little wider, taller, deeper (maybe 1 to 1.5 inches) and taller and deeper would make this perfect for my (I'm sure many others out there). Also, once a tablet is in there, because the tablet barely fits, and pushes out, the water bottle carrier is now useless because the items protrude too much.

3. Water Bottle pouch: This needs to either accomodate larger 32oz bottles (needed for day hikes), or get rid of it completely. It isn't very practical.
a. Too small, you can only accomodate 16 oz bottle sizes (not enough for day hikes)
b. The velcro strap does NOT secure the bottle, you can tighten it to some degree but if you run, it will fall out. I've had this happen to me at the airport rushing to catch a flight
c. if you use it for anything else, it will fall out, with no way to secure it. If you are using somethign that is a perfect fit, and you can secure with the velcro by luck, then yes. But in most cases, I can never trust that little pouch.

Solution to 3:
1. Get rid of it, and provide molle / pals webbing so that we can attach whatever we want, including a bottle carrier or an expandable bottle pouch, or even just use it to attach another pouch for admin purposes. If you this out with a molle panel, then you would also give back more space inside the bag since the 16 oz aluminum bottle will no longer protrude inside the bag space for a fit.
2. If you want to keep this pouch, then please make the pouch bigger to accomodate bigger bottles, and provide either a 'secure' dual bungle cord (top down), or 'Y' shaped to secure the bottle. Also, provide a strap to compress the pocket when not in use.

Above 3 are absolute must IMO to make this perfect, and woudl solve a lot of problems and address the bigger market IMO.
** Here are some wish lists (not critical, but would be great). **

1. Make the the space between the back padding and the back wall of the bag a lit spacious. When you tuck in the waist belt into the back padding, it takes away a lot of space inside. a bit more tolerance to tuck in the waist belt woudl be highly desirable for ease of use, and maximized space retention.
2. create few more loops or d-rings on the back side of the bag so that we can use a should strap-ette. Not everyone likes to carry their bags messenger style.
3. Give us more padding using software material on the should strap. The current 'wrap' provides good grip and traction, but after prolonged use wearing a t-shirt, started to blister my shoulder.

Perhaps you can create a Version 2, or even a 'large' edition of of the bag in the near future? If you do, sign me up. That would be the perfect bag!

Very nice waistpack Review by robert w / (Posted on 8/12/2016)
My only complaint is that i would like the carry handles to be longer. When the bag is full its a tight fit if you have something in the shockcord. The fabric is very nice and wotks great for a car bag or similar.

Simply put, I absolutely love this bag! Review by Denise B / (Posted on 8/11/2016)
Simply put, I absolutely love this bag! I am using it daily instead of a purse. Everything I need to carry has its own place. No more fumbling around and digging to the bottom to find what I need. Sturdy, yet lightweight enough for this 62 yr old to carry by hand, shoulder or waist. I can easily exchange contents from what I need at work, to what I need for a short day hike. My motto is "Simplify", and this Direct Action Foxtrot fits that bill for me. Thanks for all the extra attention to detail, so appreciated. I will definitely return to purchase gifts for the holidays.

FoxTrot is Wicked Nice Review by CD / (Posted on 8/10/2016)
I was looking for a new midsize waist pack in Kryptek camo and there's not many choices out there. My previous pack was a custom ordered high end model costing $275 a great pack but the company discontinued that style/model waist pack.

I hadn't heard of Direct Action Gear found they had the Foxtrot waist pack in Kryptek Highlander camo with Goggle Search so took a chance and ordered it.

Wow, I had no idea the Foxtrot pack would be this nice the construction is every bit as nice as my older nearly $300 custom ordered pack! The foxtrot is also little bigger than it looks on website about the perfect size for a waist style pack.

Direct Action gear is now on my Rader I will be ordering a second Foxtrot and another day pack model at this price and even much higher price I don't think you can bet this pack!

A truly impressive waist (fanny) pack. Review by Daniel R / (Posted on 5/15/2016)
Think of most waist or fanny packs independent of price. The Foxtrot is THE waist pack on steroids. I walk 3 miles daily and have grown tired of sling bags and sling water bottle carriers digging into my shoulders and moving around requiring constant readjustment. I recently purchased 2 HSGI shoulder pads that have addressed these problems but I was intrigued by the idea of transferring weight from the shoulders altogether. A backpack is too bulky and inaccessible. Once I get a molle bottle carrier that fits a 1 liter bottle, I will test the apparatus. Stay tuned.

Great bag, great quality Review by Steve W / (Posted on 5/4/2016)
This is my second bag from DA (my first was the DragonEgg). The material and construction are top quality and I've seen no fraying or defects. Like some others I do wish the water bottle pocket was a bit larger, but it will barely fit a slim 16oz Thermos. I would also buy another of these tomorrow if DA would make one with detachable waist straps (please?). They can be tucked in to a "pocket" on the back of the bag, but it's a tight fit and feels a little bulky. Of course it is a waist bag, so there's no knock against the product there, just a wish for a future model.

I'm very pleased with this thing and use it for my family weekend outings. I put a Vanguard FAT pack (medium one) and a couple water bottles in the main compartment with some room to spare, a full pack of flushable wipes and a bunch of hand sanitizer wipes in the front pocket, the 16oz thermos in the pocket for the kid, and there's still room left over for the odds and ends that vary by destination.

5 stars, I'd buy it again (and will if you get me those detachable straps!)

My Dust and foxtrot bags are the best way for me to keep my things together (the bags match perfectly) but still allow me to separate and take only what I want to bring with me . Foxtrot gives me great flexibility, it's a great design. A well thought out bag.

Good for Sketchbook and Camera Review by Jennifer S / (Posted on 4/20/2016)
I like this bag because there is space for an ipad, 11inch MB Air, a kindle, a passport, and the body and two or maybe two to three lenses for a camera. The top of the bag has a cord where you can put a small tripod. I would typically put a few sketching tools, a thin sketchbook, and camera kit in there during a hike or travels. The straps tuck in so it can be used as a (bit bulky) messenger bag. I would say it could be easily combined with the Dust bag Judging by my time backpacking I would say the thick waist straps can be used as a waist support for a separate heavy smaller pack.

Excellent. Review by Randal H / (Posted on 2/10/2016)
I bought this bag with the idea in mind that it might work well on my waist while wearing a small pack on my shoulders. It was fine underneath my small Deuter pack, but that pack is quite small. So I ordered the DA Dust backpack to go along with it. The Dust is longer(deeper?) than my Deuter, but that just means that it sits on top of the Foxtrot when I wear both. All seems comfortable. I have yet to try the combo over a long distance, so this review is conditional, but the Foxtrot waist strap is HUGE, and seems to support the weight not only of the waist pack but of the Dust as well. If this all proves out it will give me a lot of versatility in packing for various situations.

Great product.

The Foxtrot is a very well made product. k I have several tactical bags I use for shooting hunting and fishing. This bag is the best made of all of them regardless of price. I will be using it for freshwater fishing along the edges of streams and lakes. Very comfortable and very utilitarian.

Outstanding quality and customer service Review by Joe W / (Posted on 1/23/2016)
This is now my 6th DA product purchased within the past few months (Dragon Egg(2 colors), Dust, Ghost, balaclava, Foxtrot). That speaks volumes as to the quality/price ratio for their products. I've had some prior experience with a Maxpedition Sabercat and a Proteus; products in the same vein. They are great products as well, but the Sabercat is at a significantly higher price point. The Foxtrot is comparable in quality, but they have raised the bar a bit in terms of features (lighter weight, laser-cut molle, interior hook & loop lining for holsters, etc.) I would place this product in the same or higher class of workmanship as the other big brands we are all addicted to (yes, you too I'll bet): Max, 5.11, Hazard 4, Voodoo Tactical, etc. The DA brand is new in the US market, but they have hit the ground running. Keep 'em coming! And get those accessory pouches on your e-commerce site ASAP!! That's holding you back.

Outstanding price-value relationship Review by Joe W / (Posted on 1/23/2016)
This waist pack, in my opinion, has every bit as much quality, functionality and durability as the Maxpedition Sabercat (which I previously owned and gave to my son). It also has a few features I like better: lighter weight, laser-cut molle vs. traditional, hook & loop interior panels for mounting holsters, etc.. Finally, (and this one sealed the deal), this DA product sells for around $30 less than the comparable Max product. Truth be told, both are very high quality waist packs, but DA's raises the competitive ante a bit now. I'm glad to see a new competitor stirring the pot now among the 5.11 / Maxpedition / Condor / Hazard 4 type oligopoly. Keeps the heat on and brings us great products. Thanks,

A great piece of gear. Review by Ernest H / (Posted on 10/13/2015)
Recommend increased thickness of the handles and losing the hook & loop wrap around the handles. I like the set up inside and on the exterior but noted loss of some space when the waist straps and related padding are tucked inside the rear storage sleeve at the rear of the bag. Overall, I like the bag a lot and feel it's an excellent size and configuration for an edc bag.

Well made Go-bag. Very well thought out. Good job, Direct Action. Review by Terry Neil Croup / (Posted on 8/14/2015)
As a police officer i have owned many GoBags. Now working for private security I am often called a moments notice to transport mental or intox people. This FOXTROT bag works fro me. Plenty of places to stow my paperwork, cuffs, small binocs, a hnadheld radio, computer, GPS, and even a toothbrush etc. I have it packed to the hilt. It is well made and very well thought out. I found the belts to be just right and strong quick connectors and lots of zippers and velcro. I got it in OD because it matches my old ALICE gear if I ever have to use it in conjunction with old ALICE. The guys at DA seem to know what they are doing. Great bag you will not go wrong buying it. Looking at their catalog i would say they have excellent LBE, vests and rucks too. I will pass the company on to my friends in LE, and patriots and hunters.

Great quality waist pack Review by George B / (Posted on 8/1/2015)
Just took this pack on a 8 day canoe trip in Canada and overall was very pleased, great quality in the zippers, organization of stuff, waist belt buckles all top notch. Had to drag it, toss it, left in some rain, open and closed a hundred times and had no issues at all. Couple of features that could be improved a bit are; the carry handle (which is awesome) does not allow you to access the main compartment if in carry mode. Not sure if there's a way around that but it's an extra step. The hydro slot does not accommodate standard 32 oz steel bottles so you have a lose end there (have to carry or clip separately. Would be nice to be elastic and hold a bigger bottle. Everything else I truly like and would recommend it to others.

Well made and thought out Review by E.D. S. / (Posted on 2/17/2015)
Overall very pleased, but if your waist is over 46, better plan on adding a "spacer" to the waist belt. I don't know why these manufacturers won't add more length to the waist and neck belts on this stuff, web is cheap, and you can always cut off a little excess. For this price , (or even a few bucks more) maker it long enough for everybody without having to piecemeal it together.

Great Review by Noah M / (Posted on 1/30/2015)
Had the waist pack for approx. 2 months and have used it outdoors extensively. Fully Velcro lined allowing me to configure equipment how I like it. Very generous sized belt will accommodate the largest users, I cut off around 10" on mine. Has a lot of convenient pockets, I especially like the adjustable radio pocket on the side. The mesh/foam lining on the waist belt is nice and thick and keeps cool against your body. I found when loading the bag up with heavy gear, it works better for me to use both the waist and shoulder straps - using just the waist strap it will tend to ride lower and lower during extreme movement. Materials used overall are top grade, tight weave, and quite water resistant. Overall A+. Expecting good things from Direct Action.
