  • Redesigned side pockets. Zipper to expand side pockets was removed and they are now equipped with elastic for expansion

It’s a lightweight and versatile backpack designed for Military and Law Enforcement operators. This pack has a wide camo and solid color selection that also makes it a great choice for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. You can also get it in snow camo - PenCott SnowDrift™ for winter activities. The camo/color selections with the low profile look and feel makes it a perfect Everyday Carry (EDC) bag. If you’re looking for a heavy duty MOLLE backpack for your laptop, tablet, iPad, hydration bladder, etc. or just a solid base for your bug out bag (BoB) – Ghost® made by Direct Action® is the best value for your money.

The Ghost® is 31+ liter 3-day backpack for both patrol and advanced tactical duties. The pack features two hydration bladder pockets – one in the main compartment with center tube exit and additional in the zippered back part. Hydration pocket in the main compartment can be easily be used for carrying a multiband radio devices or a laptop(max size 16"x10"). Direct Action® Ghost® features external pocket with internal organizer attached to backpack via Shock Cords. This solution allows attaching e.g. rain gear or helmet between pouch and backpack. The outer pouch can be detached and either used separately or mount to any equipment via MOLLE/PALS system. It has its own carrying handle. Two front pockets of Direct Action® Ghost® fit small essentials and personal belongings. Additional side pockets can carry small and flat items, after unzipping they will fit a standard U.S. canteen or nalgene water bottle. Laser-cut system compatible with MOLLE/PALS makes the backpack not only fully modular, but also still maintains a low profile look. Another benefit of the laser-cut system is that the material does not absorb water like traditional webbing MOLLE/PALS system will-therefore making the backpack lighter for its operator. Suspension system is based on comfortable S-profiled shoulder straps and internal stiffener in the back. Wide, removable webbing-based hip belt allows better distribution of weight when pack is loaded heavily. When removed it can be used on its own with the included low-profile suspenders. Made of durable 500D Cordura® nylon fabric with water resistant coating. Combat Vent System®, the innovative ventilation system used in backpacks, and provides increased comfort for their users. Made of contoured foam profiles with multiple air channels that are combined with airy mesh, CVS® keeps the pack off the back, which enhances air circulation preventing heat build-up and sweating, while the stiff foam ensures comfort and stability.

If you are interested in a smaller backpack we have 2 available. The Dust® which is our smallest EDC backpack and the Dragon Egg® which is our 25+ liter backpack.

Good Product, Great Customer Service Review by Jackson B / (Posted on 8/1/2023)
I purchased the Ghost Mk in coyote brown. The quality is definitely there. The option to unhook the front compartment is a welcomed addition. I also love the built in strap management system, effortless to use and simple.

My only gripe with the bag is the quality or rather choice of plastic for the hooks/buckles. It is a commonly used material in bags, but I believe it feels cheap.

When the bag arrived it had a small greyish blemish on its side. Nothing too noticeable, did not affect the structure. I contacted support and they said it may have been from rubbing during shipping. They were very friendly and offered a small reimbursement. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. Quality is 4.5/5.

I am excited to see what other ideas they will concoct.

This is my second Ghost. My first one is in Multicam and I’ve had for about 4+ years. I haven’t had an issue with it. It’s wearing in great, hence the purchase of a second one. My only complaint is the price, a little pricy. For me , they are the perfect size for a 2 or 3 day trip. Fits nice at my feet in a plane.

Well made. Tough. Multi-purpose. Review by Get outdoors / (Posted on 9/22/2022)
I have used this bag for travel, exercise rucking with weights, camping, 3 day backpacking trips, EDC, hunting, basically everything. It is very adaptable to needs and you can easily add to it with pouches etc…. I like that you can easily remove the outside organizer, and remove the waist belt; I have used it trimmed down as my daily edc with everything off and then loaded it up with everything attached and found it to excel. Very durable. Holds up well in dry and wet climates. It is admittedly on the heavier side, but I bought it for that; I don’t use all of the molle and find some of it to be unnecessary. The expandable side canteen pockets are amazing. Zippers are holding up great. After two years of very hard use I am very satisfied with my purchase. If this exact bag could be made without all the molle to look a little less “tactical “ for those of us who don’t want to attract attention I would consider it to be the perfect multi-use bag to fill a lot of different roles. Mine is currently drying out from a 3day backcountry trip so I can load it back up as my EDC this afternoon; I literally use it for everything.

This is the backpack that makes other backpacks quiver in fear Review by Theodore P / (Posted on 7/22/2022)
The ghost mk II backpack has, by far, the best capacity for it's size. I personally make my front compartment a detachable first-aid kit. When I travel by myself or with my kids, I know I have everything I need from casual camping trips to air travel. It has a pocket for my 17-inch laptop, pocket for my hydration bladder, and laser-cut molle system that allows me to use smaller utility pouches or interweave paracord. This is the best, versatile backpack I could find.

Stunningly Good Review by Ken N / (Posted on 11/16/2021)
No hard use with this pack yet, but I am so looking forward to feeling some weight on my back to see how it really performs. Once the Mk ll is adjusted to fit, it is very comfortable, with no discernible pokes or hot spots. The Combat Vent System is awesome. Wore it all day in the house without getting uncomfortable or moist in the contact zones. I was a bit concerned upon receiving the pack when I noticed that the shoulder straps have noticeably less padding in them compared to their smaller pack. But the combination of the waist belt and the back padding, together with the shoulder straps, make the pack feel like it’s part of you, with the waist belt taking most of the weight. The design is effective enough. Once on, the shoulder straps feel just fine. Again, very effective. The zippers and buckles are bomb-proof. Nice design feature with the flap of material covering the main zipper. Simple and clean layout in the main compartment, with a separation for a water bladder or anything else of equivalent size. The detachable bag on the back is like a giant admin pouch. Lots of flexibility here. Plenty of molle/laser cut attachment points for all your exterior pouches or gear. The two side hydration pouches are a good improvement over the last iteration. The ability for this pack to be compressed right down means easy storage. I see good times to be had with the Ghost Mk ll. Couldn’t be happier I chose Direct Action Gear.

Can’t recommend or love enough! Review by John S. / (Posted on 7/27/2021)
Have had this pack for a few long and dirty years now, I can’t remember not using it- its been used every time i’ve left home, from work to hiking to shooting to urbex, has been tossed and dragged and swung around, rolled down rocky crags and icy hills, snagged on barbed wire, slept on, beat on as an ad hoc punching bag, rained and/or snowed on almost weekly, sprinkled with hot spent brass when used as casual shooting rest, almost caught on fire more than once, savaged by the family dog.. and its only gotten more comfortable! Will get a Dragon Egg soon (money permitting) but the weight and modularity and sheer pillowy but rigid comfort the whole pack brings when the hip belt and sternum strap are fastened, plus the great standalone admin pouch and battle belt, have carried this into being my top pick go-to piece of gear for everything life throws at me. The Shadow Grey is low-key but good looking in both town and country, one day ill get one in any of the myriad camouflage patterns offered to let this old beat-down grey ghost get some rest! 20/10, simply outstanding work for a life-proof no-nonsense but smartly crafted gear hauler.

GHOST Mk II Backpack Review Review by Leslie R / (Posted on 2/4/2021)
I want to thank you for making a great product. The quality is exactly what I wanted and since I order the backpack I want to order more items with the PenCott WildWood design. I am a first time customer and will continue to order more from your company. Amazon is charging way to much money so therefore, I rather order directly from Direct Action website instead from here on out.
Thank you for a great product!

Durable, Spacious, Well Designed Bag Review by Gary S / (Posted on 8/12/2020)
This is a great bag. Can easily hold my gear with some room to spare. Have taken it on two, multi-night wilderness camps so far and it has performed very well. It is large and can hold a heavy load, but the weight is well distributed and comfortable. I recommend this bag if you are looking for a durable solution to pack your gear.

Well-built and High-quality Review by Craig R / (Posted on 10/16/2019)
This bag is not only capable of holding a large amount of whatever you can squeeze into it, but it has been perfect on electrofishing boats, in helicopters, in the beds of trucks, and even attached to the roof rack on a Jeep. Whatever you can cram into it and whatever you can put the bag through, I am confident that the Ghost MKII can handle it! My buddy AJ recommended I get one of them. He has an OD Green one, I have the Adaptive Green. He attaches his to the back of his motorcycles, and his holds up to all that he throws at it. I look forward to seeing how mine holds up this winter on the ice, it's almost ice fishing season, after all!

A "hard worker" Review by Robert D / (Posted on 9/10/2019)
I use this pack for a family of four, going on day excursions on lots of NE USA terrain. Purchasing this pack was based a lot on the hip belt and not a strap like most packs this size. The large admin/storage/accessories pouch in front is huge and can hold a plethora on equipment and needs for my family.
I I purchased this bag with knowledge that this was at the highest point of my price range for a 3-day pack like it is. The value that I get when purchasing this pack made a lot of sense to me it's tough, spacious and surprisingly comfortable when carrying a large load. Going out with a family of four I need to carry most of the stuff considering I'm going out with an 8 and 5 year old. I carried all the water and food for family for an all-day adventure and still was surprised at how comfortable the pack is. I would highly recommend this pack and the colors offered by direct action are really nice, I purchased Urban Grey. Since I bought it I placed a water bladder in it, and small pouches on the hip belt for carrying things like cell phones and a small pocket knife
Things I would change or improve I would love to see Molle material on the inside of the main compartment to place mark it inside organized.

Great high quality pack Review by Marc W / (Posted on 5/22/2019)
I've been searching for great high quality pack and have fell in love with Direct Actions line of gear. I've found their packs have a better "feel" to them vs. Voodoo Tac. or Maxpedition. The stitching and zippers are top notch on the Ghost MII and will hold plenty of the gear that you will need. The CVS-Combat Vent System does a great job keeping your back cool during extended wear. My favorite thing about the Ghost is the ability to store a helmet between the outer and inner pack. Due to the high quality of this pack, I plan on getting the smaller Dust MkII for lighter inconspicuous use.

I got this bag mainly for work, but because it is completely modular. It can go from a 3 day pack to a 1 day pack. Used it for service, as an EDC, for hunting. I tested it to pull 2 young kids on a sled (4 yo and 1 yo) with a beaner through the lazer cut webing. It was no problem for the quality of the webing. Best pack I ever owned so far.

I bought one of these packs in Urban Gray for EDC & work use. The moment it arrived and i tried it out I promptly ordered another one in Adaptive Green for woods use. Very nice design, tons of hidden features and very modular. The sneaky folks at DA even give you a Mosquito yoke if you want to remove the molle belt and use it as a stand alone gun belt rig.

Flawless stitching,bombproof fabrics.

Great large pack with tons of organization. Review by John P / (Posted on 12/12/2018)
This is my second DAG pack. I carried the Dragon Egg pack for a couple of years, and by far it is my favorite pack, and I've owned just about every "tactical" backpack on the high end market. The Dragon Egg would be the perfect pack if only it were a little bigger. Enter the Ghost pack. I got this pack for winter because I commute a long distance and need the room to store my PT gear as well as my winter coat layers. The same basic concept exists in this pack as it does in the Dragon Egg, such as the great bottle pockets, laser cut molly, and great overall build quality and materials. The Ghost has a TON of storage and organizational options which is a must have for people who carry a lot of gear and commute long distances. You never know what could happen and having plenty of gear on your back is imperative if you are a prepared person. The only thing about the pack that is a little annoying is the lip on the zipper for the main compartment. It is designed to keep rain/water off of and out of the zipper, and once the pack breaks in a bit more, I am sure the main compartment will be easier to get into. The lip just makes it a little difficult to open the main compartment. The same comfort that exists in the Dragon Egg exists in the Ghost. These are quite simple the most comfortable packs you can buy. Buy the Ghost if you need a lot of room, need a well made pack with a ton of storage options that you can rely on. Awesome pack, well done.

And the bottom as well an be customize as to what you want to carry
I always recommend to only fill your pack half to three quarters full
This will make your pack
no to heavy and if you bring thing back with you you will have room
The shoulder straps are very comfortable
The waist belt is also very comfortable

Excellent Quality, Lightweight Package. Review by Kilo / (Posted on 3/14/2018)
I've had the same backpack for almost 15 years, now, and then I saw a friend with a Ghost and ordered one for myself. I'm not going back.
Get rid of your cookie-cutter school bags with MOLLE thrown on to the sides/front/top/bottom, take the chance and order one of the finest bags ever made by man. I'm sold; Direct Action makes a fantastically designed, well thought out, useful and intensely competitive pack. The weight is negligible, the material is fantastic and precisely stitched/cut, and simply put they're covered in attachment points for all kinds of random accessories. the padding on the back wears seamlessly whether worn with a plate carrier or on it's own and is rigid enough to keep the pack standing in the event you gotta dig through it.
You won't regret this purchase.

Best Bag I've Owned Review by Christopher B / (Posted on 8/17/2017)

Really liking it after a few weeks of ownership. Review by Mahlon R / (Posted on 8/5/2017)
This is an excellent pack. Shadow Grey is pretty sweet.
1. 500D Cordura feels great and durable.
2. Organization is insane. Like it. Did I mention I like the organization????
3. Pockets and compartments unexpectedly deep. Big plus
4. I'm up in the air on the removable pouch. I like that it can be removed but I would also like it if it was permanently attached.
5. The wide shoulder straps are really nice. The flatter wider design really works well. So so on the quick release buckles.
6. RAIN FLAPS for the zippers! YEAH! Enough said.
7. Water bottle pockets! Awesome design. Give the person(s) who designed that a raise! Also have them design more cool stuff!
8. My only concern is the mesh that is used for the pack. It has started to fray a bit, but time will tell how well it actually holds up.

DA seems to be combining cool features in one bag. I've often thought how I want to combine different features from multiple bags to make what I really wanted. DA comes darn close to doing it for me.

Conclusion: Buy one right now

Good quality and craftsmanship Review by James S / (Posted on 8/1/2017)
Overall a very good large size of bag. Would really like to have an additional compartment for gear. The detatable admin. compartment is a great and outside the box option. Would still like to have an additional compartment to better organize additional gear and supplies. Just having one large compartment to put gear in makes it difficult to keep all of it organized and easy to access.

So far I am loving it Review by Michael C / (Posted on 7/26/2017)
I use this bag for my camping/bob loadout and There is plenty of space and organization in it. It feels of great quality material, hardware and stitching. The ribs on the back padding are different but not uncomfortable they will just take some getting used. Love that there is molle under the bevertail so if you want to remove that to make it a little smaller you can still add pouches. Overall I would highly recommend this bag to anyone and this will definitely be with me for a long time

Not made for long outings Review by Sean T / (Posted on 7/21/2017)
The bag compared to other bags of its size and quality, is top of its class. The zippers are amazing along with the quality fabric. Although when fully loaded with ammo, food, and others supplies it's gets a bit awkward. This bag, when filled, sits very perpendicular to the user. Which makes its hard on the back and makes the user fatigued faster. Most back packing bags are made taller and slimmer to cut down on the perpendicular weight.

All in all it's a great bug out bag. I enjoy the laser cut molle and the attention to detail with the strap keepers. I would like to see a larger area of soft side velcro on the top of the bag, enough to hold a name tape.

I will buy again.

Shadow grey Ghoast backpack and I love the color. This pack was out of stock for a while then I got the notification from Direct Action , IN STOCK and bam ordered it. This pack will see daily use as a Bug Out Bag while I'm deployed in Iraq and by appearance it's up to the task. The shoulder straps and waist belt are comfortable and the vented pading feels good on my back. The admin pouch is well organized and I like that it's a sperate unit. My work mates have the Dragon Egg a really cool Direct Action pak which led me to order the Ghost because of the quality attention to detail and durability. You will love these back packs. which ever you chose.

great pack, belt could use some slight details. Review by Matt B / (Posted on 3/9/2017)
This is my second pack from Direct Action, the first being the Dragon Egg. Bought this pack wanting something bigger to have have in case I do a long hike and so I could alternate between my packs. I love it, the organization is superb and it's comfortable, which I was hesitant about when seeing the straps. I bought the Kryptek Mandrake version because of the pattern, although I was eying the tactical black.
my only complaint is the belt, it's really difficult and awkward to tighten around the waist, I almost have to tighten it while off the waist put it on then. Would have also liked to have seen the paracord handle on this model as well, but that's because it looks cool. A very solid 9.5/10.

As a side note, I am by no means a soldier, I just enjoy a well made backpack to hike with.

Take a Hike Review by David M / (Posted on 11/3/2016)
Took this on a two day scout camp. I used the laser cut Molle slats to attach a first aid kit, by far the best part of the bag. It was comfortable and easy to adjust to my smaller frame. I did buy a rain cover on Amazon but didnt need it. I would say the stiching is top notch. For this trip I just used the main bag; still had enough to hold random things and a water carrier I added to the side. If the bottom had extra material to protect the usual wear a bag encounters there that would be a great update to add.

I use this for everything. I even commute 8 miles a day on my biek with it. It's been in so many types I weather I can't keep track. Even in downpours on my ride home this thing has been a champ. Everything inside nice and dry. I'd say it's a little smaller than some packs, that may be a good or bad thing, but for me it's perfect for my needs. I need it a do it all pack that can go with me everywhere and not be so big it's an issue. Being able to remove the front pouch is also a plus.

Great Pack Review by Thomas M / (Posted on 10/8/2016)
Purchased this pack for all day range and admin use so i carry enough gear for any weather conditions and back up gear incase any of my primary goes down. Also carries two thin laptops and accessories. Handles all of this with ease. Very light weight, easy access to pockets and very comfortable attach to body which ever option you choose. Construction of the pack looks solid, should hold up indefinitely. Very pleased with this pack and would recommend to others.

Originally ordered the Dragon Egg MKII but it just didn't have enough capacity although it was an also and excellent pack. Exchanged for the Ghost and customer service was excellent.

Excelente, vale cada euro gastado Review by ListedParatrooper / (Posted on 8/14/2016)

Awsome!! Review by jacob c / (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Im a crew chief in the air force. I spend about 6-7 months out of the year on the road. I bought this bag initially for camping and backpacking when Im home during offtime. I took the bag on a 6 day tdy as my only luggage. I was able to pack in my uniform, boots, 4 days worth of clothes, toiletries, and my laptop. I cant say enough about how much i love this bag. I liked it so much i purchased one for daily duties on the flightline. I was issued a sandpiper bag 5 years before i bought this and it would never have accomplished this. It holds all my gear with room to spare. I get compliments on it all the time. The second bag i ordered was missing a small storage strap. I emailed Direct action and those guys wasted no time sending me the strap and some free patches. I highly recommend this bag. Direct action has great customer service and this bag is top notch. I have no doubts this bag is up to the challenge im gonna put it through in the next several years. Thanks again direct action.

Bang for your buck. Review by Rory H / (Posted on 7/15/2016)
I am currently serving in the Canadian Army and have gone through horrible issued bags and been through Camel bags and Goruck bags. This 3 day bag for DAG honestly has been a fantastic piece of kit. The fact it ships with a set of suspenders for the hip belt which once removed can be used as a battle belt / webbing style setup is a very nice addition to a already reputable product.

Perfect for a recent hike I did in British Columbia and use as a range bag. The amount of room you have is less then other bags on paper but the amount of organization you gain with this bag makes it feel like a bigger volume bag. I have gotten fellow people in my unit interested in them even despite the difference between CAD and USD currently. Thanks again for the great piece of kit DAG.

Excellent Bag Review by Mike G / (Posted on 7/13/2016)
I use this bag to carry random items I use on a daily basis while flying. The quality is second to none, and the size is perfect. I used a much bigger bag before I purchased the Ghost and after packing all the stuff that was in my bigger bag into the much more organized Ghost it even feels lighter than the big bag with all the same stuff inside. The origination alone make it a superior bag. I have not tested the water resistance yet since I am currently deployed to a very warm and dry environment. The sun glasses holder on the top is perfect. I thought it would be a little tight for glasses since it doesn't have any sort of hard enclosure to protect the glasses, but it does a great job of not smashing them. I use the main pocket's water bladder section to hold a lap top and the back water bladder section to hold important papers. The staff at Direct Action are great as well. Very quick responses to questions, with very helpful answers. Overall a great bag.

Ghost vs Dragon Egg Review by Steve B / (Posted on 7/12/2016)
I was initially going to purchase a Dragon Egg backpack as an intermediate bug-out pack or day pack for hunting/short overnight stays. Both packs get great marks from reviewers and the Ghost is a little larger and only costs a few dollars more. The Dragon Egg has the administrative organizing pockets on the inside whereas the Ghost has them in the detachable pack. I went with the Ghost and will put the detachable "Admin" pack inside the backpack when I want to save on bulkiness or attach it on the outside when I need to put clothes or survival equipment inside the main pack. The Ghost comes with a cushioned waist strap and a body harness for heavier loading while the Dragon Egg has slightly more cushioned shoulder straps(lacking the aforementioned). Both packs have a very nice channeled ventilation system to keep your back cooler. The Ghost backpack I received is rugged and well built while being slightly heavier than similar packs. The flat MOLLE system cuts on these packs are quite functional and attractive. I'm very happy with the Direct Action Ghost Backpack.

Great edc/patrol bag Review by Laurent C / (Posted on 6/29/2016)
As a soldier, I think this bag is outstanding for dismounted operations and patrols, good comfort and durability, with great flexibility as to however you want to pack your gear.
Only small complaint is the main pouch probably should have two mesh pockets or have the existing one go all the way down the bag, as it feels like wasted space.
I strongly recommend this bag if you want a versatile and lightweight option.

Excellent Review by Aaron S / (Posted on 6/7/2016)
I have spent a long time trying to find just the right bit of kit and I believe that i have finally found it. The removable belt makes it easy to transition from EDC to a weekend in the woods and the space between the admin pouch and the main pack is great for carrying a sleeping bag or other large items. While the Ghost is a little more than I would like to spend, the value is remarkable. The YKK zippers are durable, the cordura fabric has stood up to all the punishment I have thrown its way, and while the laser cut molle is a little hard to get used to, its durability and snug fit with speed strips make it what should be the industry standard.

In summary, this is the best mid size pack I have ever used and that is including the various packs I have modified and specifically tailored to my own needs. If you need something between a laptop bag and a 60L hiking pack look no further.

GREAT Stuff... Review by Stewart / (Posted on 6/5/2016)
You can see from 10 feet away that this is well made. I have NOT deployed with it yet so I am being presumpeous, however this does appear to be very well stitched, padded in the right areas. Lots of adjustable stuff and easy to customize. The molle set up is not quite like what I am used to, but it appears well reinforced and probably a better, more low profile design, then what I typically have with the sown in cross straps. Probably better, surely not worse, but different a bit none the less.

Best backpack / EDC bag I've ever owned Review by Andrew B / (Posted on 5/26/2016)
After painful reviewing and over weeks of intermittent research on EDC bags with scalability (molle) I decided on the ghost. You will not come across another EDC backpack as widely praised as direct action products. Price was not an object and I still selected the ghost. I've had it now for about 30 days and use it everyday. Very high quality and well thought out, I adore it. My only constructive criticism is better color inventory, and having the ability to slightly customize the bag. If you could add the paracord top handle and cinches on the left and right side of the dragon egg. Overall though, you can't beat this bag or the company. I will order again. Thank you, guys.

Highly recommend the Direct Action Line!!!!! Review by Jason G / (Posted on 4/12/2016)
I compete in Long Range Precision Tactical Competitions. My cheap $40 budget pack only lasted about a year before started tearing.

A friend of mine turned me onto the Direct Action gear. So decided to take the plunge and try it. I need a pack capable of carrying up to 200 rds of ammo, the associated gear to complete the stages, small array of tools in case things need to be repaired on the fly, and any snack/food for the day. I have only had this pack for 2 weeks. First inspection all the stitches seems look top notch. Very clean and efficient layout. Got all my gear situated in the pack and was very surprised at how well it packed out! Have yet to use it in an actual match, but on the few short outings its been on, I feel it will be perfect for what I need.. Thank you guys for your attention to detail and what seems like a great product.

Ghost pack Review by Preston S / (Posted on 4/12/2016)
I purchased this for a friends birthday and haven't given it to him yet. I have tried it on with a load of about 20 lbs and it does carry well and I do like the Kryptek Highlander camo. On second though I may keep it and get him a card with a $20 bill in it...LOL just kidding. You guy's do a great job thanks.

Just Awesome Review by Rick P / (Posted on 4/9/2016)
I ordered the Dragon Egg, when received and inspected could not believe the quality for the price. So, i ordered the Ghost right behind it same day. It has now arrived, and again I'm astonished. The Dragon Egg is a great everyday or overnight bag, the Ghost is a three day or so. Both feel wonderful on the back and are very balanced when packed properly. Light weight, super tough, smooth zippers, solid design with good thought on both products. Best bags to come to market in years. I'm a big fan!

Excellent Price for Excellent Product Review by Douglas L / (Posted on 4/7/2016)
I've had this pack for only a month or so now but I've already taken it out in the field and got a good feel for it. I'm in the military so I have high standards for a really good assault pack and the GHOST fits the bill. My only qualm about the pack is the hydration hose opening (that's what I've always used it for) on the middle top under the carry handle that has the velcro close. On the standard issue assault packs the army issues it has one on either side of the carry handle and for placing a camelbak on the inside i feel it's optimal for the openings for the hose to be on the side of the carry handle rather than centered under it. Hopefully they start doing OCP pattern as an option next since that is the new up in coming camo pattern. But other than those small factors, it is an exemplary pack and plan to buy one of the smaller packs for more every day use.

Best pack I have ever used Review by Jason / (Posted on 4/2/2016)
I have used packs from 5.11 and a few others, and none of them come close to this pack. Construction, organization, and materials are top notch. I am using this pack as my primary PRS competition pack, and it holds all of my shooting gear, ammo, optics, and food/water with plenty of room to spare for shedding clothes throughout the day when the temperatures start to rise. I have used it in 6 PRS matches so far, and it has held up to the abuse without any noticeable wear. And if you have ever shot PRS, its gets taken on and off constantly and suffers a good deal more abuse than simply putting it on and carrying it. Another NICE feature is the removable belt. You can detach the belt from the pack, and it comes with a set of suspenders you can attach to the belt. What you wind up with is a fully functional battle belt that you can put mag pouches, a pistol holster, and any other MOLLE/ALICE type gear you use. This is the perfect pack for a competition shooter. I cannot rate this pack highly enough. I love it.

2nd Bag Review by Ty T / (Posted on 3/18/2016)
I loved the first one so much that I (meaning my wife) decided I needed another. After going through mine she needed one too. Exact same bag, but a different color, and instead of being filled with awesome stuff (ammo, knives, a condom or 3...) her's will be decorated with visual diarrhea (bows, hello kitty) and filled with a female's deceptive materials (make-up, perfume, lotion...). Thank you again Konrad, great bag.

Great pack w/ a few small areas for improvement Review by Max W / (Posted on 3/13/2016)
Great pack overall. I see one or two things that could be improved. One is the water bottle side-holders. They could use some internal stretch to hold smaller bottles more firmly, or a strap up top to secure bottles in place. The expansion zipper for these sometimes unzips itself a little bit, too. But overall, great pack thus far. Good customer service, too. Thanks DA.

Very well made, sturdy, built to last Review by Steven A / (Posted on 2/25/2016)
As the above mentioned summary would suggest, I am highly impressed with the quality of the material used to put this wonderful pack together. Material aside, the palls webbing is laser cut allowing the pack to exhibit a slimmer profile. There are 2 velcro spots, top of pack and on the front of the pack which allow name tapes or morale patches...very nice! The front pouch can be seperrated from the main pack to allow different carrier options which is always welcome...gotta have options! Beyond the main compartment you have space for a camelback or any type of hydration bladder of your choice. Main compartment has plenty of space...top of the ruck has a small compartment that is fleece lined to allow storage of sunglasses or the like very nice touch. The zippers are well made and just awesome, easy to grab and manipulate, the zippers are capped with a tough plastic cap for easy use with gloves and the 550 cord is encased in a type of rubber increasing gripability. All in all an awesome bug out bag, 72 hr pack or what have you while still allowing the ability to accessorize with additional pouches for increased capacity. I've only recently received this back pack but as i use and abuse this one the review will most likely update from time to time hopefully not for the worse. I HIGHLY recommend this product and based on my first impressions of the ghost i will most likely purchase additional products from direct action...thank you for your time

What a pack should be!!! Review by Curtis C / (Posted on 2/20/2016)
I purchased for my next deployment. The quality is second to none and the design was very well thought out...everything has a purpose and was well planned. What really puts it over the top is the ability to remove the front pouch, rather than keep another small pouch around. I remove it for EDC and it holds all I need and more. Kryptek pattern looks great as well. 10x the quality of the last 5.11 bag I purchased...seems the 5.11 quality is going downhill lately. If I'd have paid $250 for this bag I'd still be 100% happy/satisfied. DAG - please make more equipment - great stuff and I'll definitely buy again!!!

I finally found THE bag! Review by Thomas W. / (Posted on 1/31/2016)
For the last six months, I've been on the search for a new bag. I've read and watched more reviews than I can count. Then enter the Ghost. It is a great design and made of high quality material. I purchased the Kryptek Mandrake color and it is perfect for the Eastern Woodlands. I would only offer a few design changes to further enhance the next generation of bags.

1) Use a dual zip extending pocket on the sides. The current single side zip offers little extension for my Nalgene bottle and have found that it still protrudes to the interior of the bag.

2) I would like to have had the same paracord top handle like the Dust and Dragon Egg. Don't understand the change in design from the other two.

3) Offer a way to turn the detachable front pocket into its own standalone bag. I have been toying with a way to use the included shoulder straps but haven't gotten anywhere with that yet. It would offer just a little more versatility to an already great design.

Overall, this is a great bag and look forward to see what Direct Action comes out with in the future. I am definitely going to be a returning customer!

Superior product and great company Review by Ed S. / (Posted on 1/19/2016)
What a great pack! Outstanding materials, features and quality for your hard earned money. I did my homework with research and reviews before deciding on this one but I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The level of craftsmanship is amazing and ranks right up there with Maxpedition, Vanquest and other more 'pricey' manufacturers. I was very impressed with the attention to detail in particular. I wish more companies operated on this level in our day and age . They have earned my current and future business as well as anyone I come in contact with. Great job DAG!

Excellent bag for multiple purposes Review by Marc H / (Posted on 1/19/2016)
I'm currently using the Ghost as a Get Home Bag. The craftsmanship is top notch and the materials are of the highest quality. I love the ease of operating the zippers and also the tubing on the zipper pulls which allow for a fast grasp with or without gloves. The load carrying system is very comfortable and the external zippered bottle pockets are a great feature. The detachable admin pouch is a bonus. Bottom line: This is a quality pack at a moderate price that will get the job done whether camping, backpacking, or using as an emergency type pack.

Quality for Review by Paul H / (Posted on 12/28/2015)
The Ghost pack that I ordered could not be of higher quality. The price point is great and customer service is also well above average. I will say that the coyote brown color has more of a "mustard" tint to it than I expected, but it is definitely a nice color. I will be purchasing a dragon egg as the ghost is a little large for EDC purposes but I am not at all unhappy with the experience with direct action gear.

A Great Pack Review by Mark P / (Posted on 12/2/2015)
This pack, like my Dragon Egg, is very well made with excellent fabric and utility. Mine is in shadow grey which is a very nice, low key color (my D. E. is in ranger green and nice as well). There are two shortcomings in this pack. First, it should have been larger (about 20%), making it a 3 day pack, and making the hip belt more useful. And second, there are a lot of useful features on my Dragon Egg that would work here (like the elastic straps on the shoulder harness are larger on the D. E.). Other than that, high recommended (but, if I could only have one, I'd pick the Dragon Egg).

If the shoulders had the thin soft rubber padding like the belt and back panel this bag would be insane on comfort level! And add the paracord to the top handle like the dragon egg last if the bottom of the bag had some sort of rubber/leather/skin to make it waterproof just at the bottom that would make me buy three of these bags one for bug out another for school and another for 3day just add those little thing and it will make a huge difference and seal the deal for all who look for the best tactical bag

Best Tactical Pack Review by Joseph C / (Posted on 11/28/2015)
The extreme attention to detail in this pack's construction is obvious at first glance. It is a very solid, well made pack. The detachable admin pocket provides ample room for organization while the main body of the pack isn't cluttered with useless pockets. Support is great, the back pads are thick, rigid and the semi-flexible back support is comfortable but does not flex easily. The straps adjust easily and are plenty wide so as to not cause shoulder soreness even after carrying a moderate load (35-45 lbs) for a while. A micro fleece pocket in the body of the main pack prevents scratching of sunglasses and small electronic devices, i.e. mp3 player or phone. I haven't had a chance to try out hydration bladder with this pack yet but have used the back hydration pouch for my 15.6" laptop which just barely fits, any large and you would have to use the un-padded pocket in the main zippered pocket. The molle panels are a bit harder to weave straps through because they are quite rigid but attacked pockets do not move around much. There are straps on the bottom of the pack, (not shown in pictures) which could be used to secure a sleeping pad or bag and another strap across the main body to secure a helmet or some other piece of gear between the admin pocket and the main pack. The belt is comfortable and bears weight well (also has molle panels) but will not adjust smaller than about a 34" waist (may be an issue if you are female or have a slender frame). I haven't used the included harness but it is made with the same quality as the pack and would function fine if needed. Overall, 10/10 great quality and construction. Consider the Dragon's Egg or Dust if you are a woman or have smaller build as this pack was designed with a large adult male in mind and may not adjust tight enough to fit you.

Clever and Lightweight Design Review by Timmy / (Posted on 11/9/2015)
This is my dream bag. An extremely lightweight and non bulky bag for the large capacity it can hold. My old bag held 50 liters but the way it was designed did not allow for me to use it very well. The ghost bag however is designed excellently, allowing me to use all the space I can. I use it for my all purpose bag which I use use for everything; including hiking, camping, luggage, and adventure. The main things that my old bag could not hold well were my poncho, space blanket, and jacket. With my old bag, I could only stuff it in the main compartment. But with the ghost bag, I wrap my jacket in the space blanket and poncho and then stuff it where the main bag and removable compartment is, allowing me to still have space in my main compartment. The fabric is tough for how light it is and the entire bag itself is comfortable. There is also a Y suspension attachment you can use if you take off the hip belt and attach the two together, turning the hip belt into a utility belt.

Best pack out there Review by Joseph B / (Posted on 11/3/2015)
I reviewed just about every tactical backpack out there, and this by far is the best for the price. It's not quite big enough for a true 3 day pack, but it's close enough. It fits in the overhead fine, even fully crammed. I will definitely be getting more DA gear, pouches, etc. No complaints, issues, problems. I use it as my every day pack, and it's not too bulky like the rush 72, or the hazard 4 3 day pack. For $149, it's the best value out there. If you're having a time deciding between this pack and others that are similar, get the Ghost.

Purchased the Ghost backpack in Black Review by Chris S / (Posted on 11/1/2015)
It is worth noting that I own several back packs, Maxpedition Vulture II, 511 Rush 24, Goruck GR2 and Goruck GR1. The GR1 has been my go to bag.
I recently purchased the Ghost to use for traveling for work and day hikes. The size is great, I also purchased the Dragon but it was a little small for my work items. I often carry two laptops for work and the Ghost fits my 15 inch MacBook Pro in the bladder compartment perfectly and my 13 inch fits in the main compartment and has great organization. It also provides great protection here. My only issue is how load the plastic buckles are and the zippers. I purchased a bag of black rubber bands and wrapped them around male portion of the buckle as a gasket. Now there is no rattling noise at all. So far this is a great bag for what ever I need.

Great Bag Review by Ty T / (Posted on 10/8/2015)
After much looking I decided to pull the trigger and get this bag. It's very compartmentalized, everything is easy to access, and plenty of room for all my "Felix the Cat" type of supplies that I can think of.

Had one little issue, less than 2 hours of getting this bag, and loading it up, one of the zipper pulls disintegrated in my hand. Not a big deal through, made my own with a little para cord weaving. And speaking of the zippers, very smooth and quiet.

Definitely looking at purchasing another for the wife.

Rock hounder Review by Michael L / (Posted on 10/7/2015)
Let me begin with my intentions for this bag. This is my bag for rock hounding and day hikes out in the forests of the northeast. It is a large bag for a day hike but I prefer to be well equipped for a variety of tasks when I am out on the trail. The tools I am carrying include a rock hammer, an axe, a small shovel, a folding saw and sometimes a pic axe or crow bar. These tools stow nicely between the two separate chambers of the bag. I went with this bag because of the larger hip belt for carrying a heavier load.

I love the organization of this bag. It is just the right combination of pockets and zip pockets and all in the right places.

The bag took me a while to adjust to my frame. I am 5' 10", 155 pounds. I come from a backpacking background so I am more accustomed to those type of bags. Once I figured out how to adjust the hip belt appropriately the bag started to feel more comfortable. However I did have to remove two cinches included on the hip belt for better adjustment in the field. Something very lacking on this bag are load lifters, which are found as adjustment points above the shoulder, where the shoulder strap meets the bag. This bag needs load lifters especially if you are carrying a lot of weight. I found that I could center most of the weight to my lower back, but I have had trouble getting more of that weight to my hips. I am used to a backpackers pack with really good hip belts. I feel somewhat awkward in this bag, especially in the shoulder chest region, where I feel my shoulders are being pulled back. Again, load lifters would solve this problem. I have still to run this pack for an extended period of time, which will be the true test.

Some minor quips...

The heat shrink tubing on the zipper pulls did not look professional and I thought was unnecessary. I replaced all the zipper pulls with some simple paracord pulls.

The felt lined pocket for sunglasses I thought could be larger. It is fine for just sunglasses, but I like to keep sunglasses, a headlamp, and a buff in there which didn't fit all together.

I really wish the interior of the bag was a higher visibility color, that is an appropriate contrasting color to the exterior, a subtle yellow or orange. This makes it easier to spot gear in low light, especially in the admin section of the pack. Plus, it is cool.

The exterior of the ranger green bag needs some color contrasts as well, especially on the zips, straps and buckles. Currently the bag looks too monotonous. These are mods I will make.

I found keeping a water bottle in the side pockets does not work well for retrieving the bottle without unstrapping the bag. It was uncomfortable to try and reach back and pull the water bottle out. I found these pockets to be more suitable for tools, which I have outfitted them with on both sides. I think the molle webbing on the side pockets is unnecessary as well. I think that part of the bag needs a little work and redesign. However, I am very happy with the load out of this pack.

The bag by itself needs to drop some weight. I think this could be accomplished by using smaller hardware especially the nylon buckles, which could be a size smaller, and the nylon strapping could go down in size as well in certain places. This is my backpacking pack talking.

I love the padding for the back on this bag!

I am an organizational freak and I love this bag for that, that is why I purchased it. My backpacking pack does distribute weight better and is very comfortable, however it lacks organization and doesn't carry large tools well. So I need a hybrid, and that is where this bag fit for me.

Fantastic bag and excellent service Review by David L / (Posted on 10/2/2015)
The bag is great.
Its big but not huge, its modifiable, versitile, holds more than I hoped and wears comfortably even when loaded down. I am very happy with my purchase and would tell anyone who wants a do it all and do it well bag (they exist) to look at Direct Action bags.

I love that I can take off the admin pouch (wish it was easier to put back on though) and the bag is still a solid, large bag. I use this mostly for Grad school BUT I have used it hiking and traveling.
This bag can fit all of my PA school gear, laptop, running gear and my lunch, coffee cup and nalgene comfortably. On a test day my bag may weigh upwards of 40 pounds but wears very comfortably. I normally carry my laptop (15 inch macbook pro) in the back/hydration compartment because its padded but the sleeve inside works great too.
When hiking I stayed pretty dry with the back venting, I didnt chafe from the shoulder straps and again, with water, food and random crap weighing it down...this bag wore comfortably the whole time.
traveling: You cant dress this bag up much, It still looks pretty "moto" but its a hell of a lot less so than most bags with this much versitility. The laser cut molle is infinitely less obnoxious than standard molle. the folding/zip side pockets are awesome.
All in all, I searched for months to find a bag that could function as my go to bag for school, short camping trips, traveling and even EDC. This bag (for me) can do it all and does it all very well.
Great Job DA.

Amazing pack! Review by Thomas C / (Posted on 9/25/2015)
I've owned many backpacks, messenger bags, load out bags, and so on from many different big name tactical gear companies, and al I can say is that I wish this one existed years ago. Plenty of space, zippers everywhere, and outstanding craftsmanship. If you have doubts about 500d Cordura, know that this one is a laminate which makes it even more durable. It's a stiff bag as if it were 1000d Cordura. Please make more pouches so I can add to it!

Met all my expectations then some. Review by James Y / (Posted on 9/23/2015)
I have only used once but the pack fit very well and I am a big guy . The pack was very comfortable. The pack had all the storage pockets I required. Great back pack. The only concern I had was the delivery and tax charges which of course had nothing to do with Direct Action. I look forward to the availability of various pouches for this system plus perhaps open up a retail location in Canada.

Very satisfied! Review by Tony G / (Posted on 8/20/2015)
I've held off on reviewing this bag for a couple of months because I wanted to get some actual use before I made a review. I did not receive this bag in exchange for a review or anything like that, I paid full price on the Direct Action Gear website. This is a phenomenal bag and fits my every need.

Size:
I was looking for a bag that I could use on day hikes or short camping trips. This is not as large as my 5.11 Rush 72 which I was perfectly fine with. If you are looking for a large 3-day bag, I would not go with the Ghost. If you are like me and want a larger sized day bag to hike with or for shorter backpacking trips this bag will work very well. It has some compression pads on the bag and has an overall slim profile compared to many bags of this size. The capacity is 31.5 liters if you include the detachable external pocket. There are great organization options in the detachable external pouch. There are 2 mesh pockets, 4 holders for pen/pencil/firesteel/any other slim items of that size, a lanyard for your keys or anything else you'd like to attach, 2 rectangular pouches (think altoids tin size) with velcro flaps, a small "dump" pouch in between the other organizers, and a larger dump pouch behind everything else. That's not to mention the entire "dump" area of the total external pouch as well as the zipper on the front of it that extends the entire area of the external pocket. This would be a great option for a medical kit as you can detach it and it can hold plenty of items (not what I use it for, just saying as my mind always goes there being a nurse and all).

For the main compartment itself, there is another zipper on the outside that is about half the height of the bag. The outside on the main compartment also has a sunglasses holder, a water bottle holder on each side (easily fits a standard 32oz nalgene and has compression straps to lock it into place), and access to your first water bladder compartment on the back (easily fits my 3L water bladder and has a nice hook to hang it on and access to the outside for the hose). Inside the main compartment has one mesh pocket and a divider that you can access the second water bladder area (again with the nice hook and hose access). The rest of the compartment is just an open dump area That's pretty much it for the main compartment if you're looking for organization. I'm fine with it being a large dump area, but it may be a turn-off to some.

Function:
The hip belt is detachable and comes with straps that you can attach magazines, holsters, etc. and wear that alone. I will never have a use for that but it may be important to some. The hip belt itself is very wide and actually transfers weight to your torso/legs MUCH better than my Rush 72. However, being a shorter bag it takes me some adjusting to get to that point and isn't as comfortable as when I have it all cinched up on my shoulders. I usually just use it for stability or to carry a knife. I'm 5'11" and my torso is just a little too tall for it so if you're 5'9" or shorter, or have a shorter torso than I do, I believe it will perform well for you. The shoulder straps have buckles so you can quickly detach the pack if you are wearing it. There are 4 compression straps on the outside if you count the ones that attach to the external pouch.

The laser cut MOLLE looks fantastic and contributes to the slim-profile look that was mentioned before. If you need MOLLE, this is the bag for you as there is absolutely no shortage of it. It is featured on the main bag, the external pouch, on each side (even on the water bottle compartments), the hip belt, and four on the bottom of the pack to allow for tent/bedroll/etc. attachment. The laser cut MOLLE does take some getting used to. It is definitely more rigid and I find it more difficult to attach things to it. It's not impossible, just a little more difficult. I took the old method of using a butter knife to guide my attachments through and that seems to cut down on the time and frustration, as it did with standard MOLLE loops. It is nice that it will not snag or absorb water and weigh the pack down. Perhaps over more time it will loosen up and become less rigid, but who knows. Not a huge deal for me.

The external pouch can be detached but I will never do that. As one reviewer mentioned, it's kind of a pain due to the knots and stringing of the shock cord. I use it beaver-tail-style and stuff things (rain jacket, tarp, plano tackle box, etc.) in between the external pouch and the main compartment. You can cinch it down tight and nothing will come out. Well, it may, but not easily Also, I cannot speak to the NIR as I have absolutely no use for such thing and I got mine in shadow grey (very nice looking dark grey).

Comfort:
This bag is amazingly comfortable. I've worn it for many continuous hours while hiking and absolutely love how it feels and performs. The shoulder straps are well contoured and have nice padding, the hip belt works really well, there is an adjustable sternum strap, and the water bladder portions works well and carries the weight well if you use the hook.... and I haven't even gotten to my favorite part- the back padding! The Combat Vent System is probably just shy of 3/4" thick and is made of foam encased in mesh and has many large and deep ridges cut into the foam to help air circulate. It did not prevent my back from sweating (nothing will because, let's face it, it's still in contact with your back) but with even the slightest breeze cool air went through those ridges and cooled my back. That is a great feeling on a hot day with a lot of hiking!

Quality:
This pack screams quality. Seriously. Very well made. It is 500D Cordura Nylon (lighter than 1000D and still very strong) and DWR coated (water repellant) with fantastic stitching. There are no frays or loose stitching and after two months of pretty good use hiking/camping/being thrown around in the woods, it still looks like it did when I received it (minus the dirt on it). The shoulder straps and top handle are all Box-and-X style stitching. Pretty much anywhere on the pack where you find a strap or buckle there will be a loop with velcro nearby to fold up the excess straps, which is very nice to keep it snag-free and keep the excess straps out of the way. The shoulder straps also have D rings and other attachment points to feed a water bladder hose. The buckles themselves are made of duraflex and the zippers are all YKK. The zipper pulls are also great (also duraflex?) and the cord attaching to the zipper is encased in a tough-rubbery material. I know, I sound very scientific with that but that's the best I could come up with! There are two velcro attachments on the outside if you're into morale patches and those sorts of things. I'm not, but the look doesn't bother me. Each compartment, the main and external pouch, also have a drainage hole on the bottom. There are 2 D rings and various other attachment points that I couldn't even tell you what the use would be for them. I could go on and on here, but I'll just conclude the quality section by saying I came away VERY impressed with Direct Action Gear. Finding hidden gems (probably not for long) like Vanquest and Direct Action Gear make me appreciate quality so much more and gives me little hesitation for ponying up the extra few bucks to go with them.

Conclusion (finally, right?):
If you are looking at this review you are either a) unsure of what you're getting for the money or b) on the fence about buying this because it may be a tad more expensive than some other packs out there or c) I don't know, why are you still reading if you aren't considering it? Full disclosure: I have not had the opportunity to test or try many backpacks of this style- very few, actually. But I can be confident in saying that if you're looking for this style of backpack and you like what it has to offer, and it fits your budget, you will be extremely satisfied with this pack. It's a slam dunk in my opinion. Sorry about the lengthy review but I hope it helps!

True Quality Review by Marcus T / (Posted on 8/18/2015)
I used my Ghost for the first time yesterday to go to the range and it was awesome!! I know some people don't like stiff packs, but I think the Ghost is just right. The pockets on the sides of the bags hold my 40oz Hydro Flask perfectly. I took off the front piece until I find a use for it. The bag is big but not too big. I wouldn't call it a 3 day pack but with the front piece attached, who knows how much gear you could fit inside. Overall, the bag has my vote! I wanted the 550 cord handle like the Dragon Egg, so my wife made on for me and it honestly looks as if the bag came that way!! Go get a Ghost!!

Took this pack up the mountain. Carried everything I required and then some for the day without being uncomfortable or akward. This is going to make a great pack for work. Compresses down more than I expected, should have no issues stowing it in the bins.

Good bag, great with some minor modifications. Review by omar p / (Posted on 7/21/2015)
This bag is aesthetically pleasing which counts for something in my book. Functionality is tremendous with a logical lay out that happens to be perfect for my use. A large main pocket for big gear like clothing and sleep systems, smaller pockets here and there for those miscellaneous odds and ends. The removable front pouch adds tremendous value and the space between it and the main bag is perfect for jackets, shoes or anything else that you may want to stow on the outside, away from your other gear. The available color schemes are amazing which is a plus because you can buy a bag for almost any environment you'll find yourself in. I got my bag on the fourth of July sale which was the perfect price. Normal price is just a little too expensive for my taste but certainly worth doling out the extra cash to avoid buying a lesser bag. As far as quality I can only speak to the condition upon receipt and about a month of use. There were no obvious flaws with the product, workmanship was superb and a month later the bag is still in great condition. I use this mostly for work in the military and hiking. Perfect rugged construction, a bit on the heavy end for hiking but good nonetheless. I do have some minor issues with the bag so far but nothing that is a deal breaker and certainly not something that can't be fixed. Problem one that I noticed involves the side pouches for holding bottles and what not. They are zippered which is great for accommodating larger vessels but the small nylon web pull tab is too small to be useful. I find that with a full pack jamming a bottle into the pouch is difficult without a nice sized loop to hold on to. So I just fashioned a paracord loop to thread through the webbing loop. This solves my issue. Additionally I found that hiking will tend to dislodge any bottle you have in the pouch. Solution? Fix a small carabiner to the paracord loop to hold your bottle in place. I also added a paracord loop to the velcro tab at the top of the bag where the hydration system hoses route through. This aids in use of the flap with gloves. The other problem I noted is that the shoulder straps do not have a retention mechanism for hydration system hoses. I purchased one from camel back and installed it on the nylon webbing of the shoulder strap. This kept the hose neat and prevented it bouncing about during running. The last problem I noted involves the waist straps. The buckle adjustment is of poor design and difficult to utilize without stopping and fumbling with it for a good bit. I've had other bags with easy to adjust waist buckles and a similar set up would be perfect on this bag. I supposed the design was intended to minimize drift of the buckles during activity. Oh, one more thing I remembered. For those who like to have their zipper pulls all the way to one side this bag makes that preference annoying. The two nylon web belts that hold the top of the removable front pouch in place are right in the way of where the zipper pulls are. This is annoying to say the least when trying to get into the bag constantly. I have had to change my preference and settle for a 12 o' clock zipper pull placement to alleviate the issue.

Over all a great back that I highly recommend to everyone.

Amazing Bag! Review by Mark Kupiec / (Posted on 6/25/2015)
This is a very strong, well built bag. The pads built into the backing are very comfortable. The detachable front pouch was a great idea. The waist strap doubles as a light battle belt and came with suspenders to attach.

The only thing that could be added to this already great pack would be a shoulder sling to use the detached front pouch as a separate carry bag.

I highly recommend this bag!

Very surprised Review by Mitchell T / (Posted on 6/14/2015)
So after seeking out manufacturer's who use the Pencott Greezone pattern I found DA. I was originally looking for a padded MOLLE belt and then stumbled on the Ghost with its included detachable padded belt with suspenders. Just looking at the pictures of the backpack I was amazed with how nice the laser cut MOLLE looks compared to your standard sewn on straps. For the price of around $150 I was getting the belt I wanted and a really nice backpack, compared to spending $100+ on just a HSGI or the other top brand belts. First impression when opening the box was seeing the nice carry bag the pack comes in, then the pack itself. At first, it seemed smaller than I imagined it would, then after I got it all out and opened it up I was surprised how big it really was. My previous pack system is a USMC ILBE and ILBE assault pack. I needed a large but not 60L pack that has a bulk compartment but also includes different organization stuff. This pack fits everything, the small outer pouch fits my tablet, first aid, snake bite kit, writing stuff, the main compartment holds any rolled up garments, 100oz CamelBack, MREs, the belt with gear attached to it. The pack itself was also surprisingly light, and I could tell by looking at every little thing that this was going to hold up to some serious abuse. The belt securely holds my full size 1911, 4 10 round mags, flashlight, utility knife, multi tool, thermal monocular in the matching Pencott Greezone pouches I got from UR Tactical, and is very comfortable compared to the last belt I was which was a simple riggers belt with drop leg holster and loose MOLLE style pouches that couldn't be mounted tight due to no MOLLE on my belt. Definitey looking forward to the coming chest rig and plate carrier, love the laser cut look and extra sturdiness. I also got one of the 30L Pencott Greezone backpack covers to keep everything clean.

Versatile Field Pack Review by SteveB / (Posted on 6/3/2015)
The Ghost Pack offers great features and scalability for field use. It can be configured several ways, optimizing it for the mission/trip. The pack is well finished with many details others leave out, or charge extra for. I tested it on a 25km off-trail hike in dense vegetation. It was stable and very comfortable the whole trip. More so than other brands at the same price point, even on par with the Mystery Ranch 3DAP . The belt is a big plus for comfort on long hikes, or when carrying more than 10kg. The Ghost is the pack to get for longer hikes, extra gear, light overnighters, or general field use.

Perfect 30 liter backpack Review by John D. R. / (Posted on 5/4/2015)
I needed a sturdy 30 liters backpack in Kryptek camo. I am glad I have choosen this one. The quality of this pack is really surprising, on part with the best brands in tactical and alpine equipment. And when I write "the best" I really mean THE best, not just the good ones. Better than 5.11, Maxpedition, Northface... Stitching is perfect, zippers are smooth, the strange MOLLE system works very well. The Ghost offers lots of modularity with the external pouch and a very comfortable waistbelt: backpack, backpack + pouch, pouch alone, MOLLE options... It can do everything. One of the best IMHO. What could be improved? A thicker bottom with two layers of fabrics instead of one, and more webbing on the back of the external pouch instead of only two. Everything else is damn perfect.

Awesome bag! Review by Stephen / (Posted on 3/30/2015)
This is an incredible bag for the money. Its quality is up there with the TAD pack I own. I couldn't find a single loose thread or crooked seam. Its design is very well thought out. Tons of organization, incredible adaptability and modularity, and it is very comfortable when loaded up. I haven't even needed the waist belt but I love knowing that it's an option. My only gripe is that it's not offered in Kryptek Typhon!
