Equipped with a set of capacious pockets, D.A. Small Messenger Bag® allows the user easy customization and personalization. Main compartment is lined with Velcro loops which allow adding some extra equipment, like holsters or magazine pouches. Padded sleeve inside main compartment keeps your notebook or other electronic devices fully protected. D.A. Small Messenger Bag® features laser-cut modular system compatible with MOLLE/PALS. I choose this as my camera bag after months of searching for a decent sturdy bag with modularity i landed on this gem of a product. The lasser cut modular molle slits add very unique look and usefullness to this bag. The watter resistance and easy acces tru the top with no need to open the flap. The ability to use it as a hip bag. This should be the number one camara for photographers on mission. Pleas bring this bag this product is excelent.

I am impressed with the layout and quality of the bag no question. I travel internationally frequently and got the bag for carrying an 11.5” laptop, accessories, and basic travel essentials internationally. I liked the top panel access shown in the adds thinking it would speed up getting the laptop out going through security but the top panel opening is too small by about an inch to allow that size laptop to come out through that panel. I still have to open the main compartment and work a little to get the laptop out. Not a super big deal but wanted to let others know what to expect. While not completely non-tactical in external appearance it does not look overly tactical and does a good job of

I have been shopping for this bag for months and it was discontinued and luckily one day i clicked on the link and it was available. I have really enjoyed this bag and have to say that it is the perfect size for everyday normal carry (not load out). The only suggestions i have is that the carry handle shouldn't be Velcro and it should be directly on the top. More accessories such as different size pouches/admin pouches would be nice. I am having to shop for accessories from Helikon Tex to get the proper sizes for this bag. Amazing quality and will last me a very long time. Looking forward to purchasing the regular size and also the Dragon Egg Backpack.

I bought the bag for EDC at work as an EMT. I have inside two fully loaded medium size pocket organizers , my lunch and i attached to the side a bottle holster with molle straps , plus my sunglasses..

This bag is excellent. From the protective zippered map sleeve, the innovative zipper through passage to the main compartment, the durability of the material, to the abundance of M.O.L.L.E. attachment points; this bag is fantastic for a day's hike in the woods. This is exactly the size bag I was searching for. It is functional, ruggedly built and comfortable. It was a little stiff due to the strength of the materials and the exacting construction but is breaking in nicely the more I wear it. I couldn't recommend this more!

This messenger bag is big enough for my iPad, chargers, and all my EDC gear. The transparent document pouch is far more useful than I thought it would be and the molle compatible panels allow for expansion on the ends if necessary. But I prefer the compact size with nothing extra at this point. 10/10 would purchase again.

The mandrake looks awesome and a one of a kind, since no one else is rocking this camo pattern. I was skeptical at first, however this is truly a top notch product. The size is just the right and not to bulky.

This is VERY well built. If it is the size you want buy and don't look back until it's take out by an IED or something. I carry a 11.6 size laptop in it with accessories. The top access was one of the reasons I purchased it as my 5.11 laptop bag (larger) has a fold over flap and my Propper laptop (for a 14 inch Laptop)bag has a top open (no flap) I wanted to try this style. The top opening slot is a bit tight actually getting things in and out of it so just be aware of what your intended purpose is for the bag. That's not a criticism of the excellently made kit just something to be aware of. for laptops I would probably go the next size up though it handles my 11.6 sized devices (sometimes 2 of them) fine.

Been looking for a quick grab and go, but just wasn't sure this was going to satisfy my needs. I was surprised. Not only did it satisfy, it went beings expectation. Can put a lot more gear in it than first thought. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised, especially since I have the dust and dragon egg too and have found the same thing.

The fit and finish of the Direct Action small messenger bag is top notch. The bag is surprisingly roomy for being so small. The inside zipper pocket fits a 10.5 inch iPad Pro with case perfectly. My only grip so far with this bag is the tote handle. The positioning of the tote handle pretty much makes the handle useless.

For its size this bag really offers quite a bit of room to carry essential items. If you are someone who has to carry everything for that just in case moment, perhaps the medium sized bag is more suited for you. Over all this is a well constructed, carry what you need bag.

I love this Messenger (actualy should be called a shoulder bag, as the cary handle is essentially non functional) Bag. Very well made , secret compartment, high end materials and assembly, with direct attention on durability. The pass through ziper on top is pure Gunius!! Should be on every Mesenger/Shoulder Bag !! The perfect size for my Ipad and other EDC Items. I Loved this bag so much I bought the Larger Messenger Bag also!!

This thing is rock solid! I was looking for a small bag to travel with and caught this on sale over Christmas. Its a little smaller than I was needing but it still will work out great for what I wanted. I went with the grey color which I highly recommend.

I purchased the Direct Action Small Messenger Bag to use as an EDC tablet bag and to carry my ED stuff to and from work and everywhere else. The quality of the bag surpassed my expectations. I was familiar with Cordura but not of this high quality. The overall construction of the bag is excellent and the stitching looks to be precise and sturdy. The size of the bag is perfect for me and it keeps its shape under all conditions, even when stuffed full. Today is my fourth day with it and have already gotten several compliments on it. It's a very masculine bag which is definitely what I was looking for. I do have to get used to the coating on the bottom surface of the bag as it doesn't slide across surfaces, which in the end, I think, will be a good thing. The laser cut PALS is, in my opinion, better than MOLLE and gives the bag a much more refined, sophisticated look, adding to it's military aspect. The overall appearance of this bag, and the coyote brown color, is what caught my eye and wouldn't let go. YKK zippers are simply the best, say no more, especially with nylon cord pulls covered with latex. It has a very tough, rigid feel to it that speaks to its sturdy construction. The flap and interior organization are perfect. I looked at many bags on many sites and was very happy to end up on the DA site. If this type of bag will fit your EDC needs, then I highly recommend it. It also seems to be indicative of Direct Action products in general and they all seem to be well priced for the quality, utility, and construction. The only suggestion I would make would be the addition of small side pockets. I definitely recommend DA products and look forward to shopping with them again.

This is by far the best EDC bag I've ever had. I just got it and already love it. The construction is superb, the Cordura absolutely perfect and durable. The YKK zippers are sturdy and the laser cut PALS is infinitely better than the traditional type. There's room for my tablet and all the other stuff I carry. The only suggestion I have would be to put external pockets on each side, but not so big that they make the bag too bulky. For me, the Coyote Brown is perfect. I'll know be using this for years to come. I highly recommend this bag. I'm seriously considering getting another one for the future.

I Use this as a range bag for ammo, safety glasses, ear protection, etc. Extremely well made and has a number of compartments and the material seems to be very durable. Should last for many years of hard use.

This bag is great and I have been looking for a laptop bag that is configurable for a while now. I was unsure whether to get this or the big messenger bag and took a shot at this size for my Surface Pro 3 for business travel. Just a few items that you might take into consideration:
1. Include a strap/change strap for the D rings on the back to tighten down completely so you can slide this pack over luggage handle and keep tight. The current strap doesn't allow this. You could include a pass through sleeve but would probably cause trouble with the design.
2. Size - it is the bare minimum I would want and would love to see the same bag with about two more inches in length. - maybe a medium?
That said, this bag is pretty great and once I get a few pouches configured to match my organization needs, it should be my standard carry bag when travelingPrice Quality Value - Top notch quality

This is my first bag from DA gear. I own bags from Goruck and Tripe Aught Design and the quality is on par with these brands. I was blown away by how clean the stitching is and the materials used!

I purchased the Small Messenger Bag to set up primarily as an active shooter bag. To qualify my remarks, I have extensive experience in outdoor retail and as an EMS provider. I participated in the design process of several EMS equipment bags for my department. The build quality of the bag I received is excellent. Material and component selection is of the highest quality. Stitching and construction are excellent. Design shows that great thought was indeed put into creating these bags and the nuanced features that, while not entirely unique in and of themselves, when combined with the skilled and robust construction and the obvious care and thought in material selection provides us, the end user, with a superior product. The bag is designed to be used in an active and dynamic environment and not only survive, but come back and do it again. And again. I find the coating applied to the bottom surface exterior of the bag to be an excellent touch, increasing water resistance if you put the thing down, but abrasion resistance as well. PALS is all laser cut from what I believe is a hypalon/ nylon laminate(?) and is much lighter and more discreet than conventional PALS webbing construction. Zippers are YKK with nylon cord pulls dipped in what appears to be latex. Very nice, very tactile, very stain and abrasion resistant. Interior is lined with Velcro loop and provides great flexibility for personal organization. I very highly recommend this bag if it suits your needs and if it is indicative of Direct Action products across the board, will be recommending them and shopping with them again.

I recently bought this bag for to carry my tablet and paperwork to and from work. Also plenty of room for carrying other things back and forth to work. The velcro center lined center pouch is great. I currently keep my .38 sp velcro holster in there for traveling to and from work.
